Hi there! I’m Hannah Harrel, the brain behind The Delta Diaries. You might be wondering who I am and why I decided to create this blog, so here’s my story:
I have always loved adventures. I’ve also always loved change. I was born and raised in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, spent three years in Lubbock, Texas, at the greatest college of all time, Texas Tech University (Wreck ‘Em), and moved back to my hometown to pursue my career. With a degree in English and Organizational Leadership, I began working for a magazine at the beginning of 2016. I realized I wanted more from my life, so I quit my full-time job to become a full-time graduate student with four part-time jobs. That was not enough to satisfy my nomadic soul, so I made it my goal to travel as much as I possibly could with the amount of spare time I had. My first passion has always been and will always be horses. Work had really gotten in the way of me being able to do what I love, so I started riding and showing on the hunter/jumper circuit again. Now, I work in higher education, teaching students things that I wish someone had taught me when I was just starting out.
Basically, I crafted a life that I love out of many unique hobbies and skills that I have been blessed with. I love summertime, my dogs, the lake/ocean, and my family, but more than anything, I love going on adventures – life-changing adventures. The kind of adventures that teach you more than you’ll ever learn in a classroom or in a cubicle.
I hope you’ll join me on this journey… ➶
